copy/paste not working properly when open diagram from saved file

Hi there,

C#, VS2003, syncfusion 4.4.051

Please see my attached project. Open the project OrgChart_2003.sln.

Please also see the screen-shot of proplem in folder ErrorPicture.

My problem is: when you create a diagram with two nodes and a link by
AddCondition, AddRehab and AddCustomLink. then select them, copy/paste, the paste works OK.
then save it to file, re-open it from the file, select all nodes and link, copy/paste. This time the pasted noded will not display properly.

I think the proplem may be in Serialization and De-Serialization when save and open.

but I do know where is the problem?
Any idea?
Thanks

Lan

Hi Lan,

I have checked your sample and was unable to load the application as it gave an error "

---------
Error 2 The type or namespace name 'STN' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
---------

Let me know if I need to use some other assembly too for this application.

Thanks and Regards,
Ajeet

Hi,
I've modified the STN. namespace. Please see the new attached file.
Please use OrgChart_2003.sln to open the solution.
Thanks,

Lan

Hi Lan,

Thanks for the sample. I tried to compile the sample, but it threw errors like, The type or namespace "clsConditionSymbol not found".

Can you please verify this and repost the updated and workings sample?

Let me know if you shall need any further clarifications in this regard.

Warm Regard,
Ajeet

Hi Ajeet,

I have created another sample based your syncfunsion's original Chart sample.
Please see attached OrgChart_2003.sln.

the StepsToRepeatError.doc is the steps to reproduce my error.

Thanks,

Lan

Hi Lan,

I was able to see this issue in v4.4.0.51.

We have completely refactored the code after v4.4.0.51 and thus, many such critical issues were also fixed.

This issue is fixed since the v5.1.0.51.

You may contact sales at salessupport@syncfusion.com for an upgrade.

Let me know if you shall need any further clarifications in this regard.

Warm Regards,
Ajeet

Hi Ajeet,
I've downloaded v5.1.0.51. But This version does not support Visual Studio 2003. I have to do some quick fix in VS2003 before I can move to VS2005 or VS2008.

What version else has fixed the copy/paste problem and works in VS2003?

Thanks,

Lan

Hi Ajeet,
My current IDE is VS2003/C#, Syncfusion 4.4.0.51. Because I cannot move to VS2005/2008 and I am also afraid that moving Syncfusion 4.4.0.51 to 5.1.0.51 will have a lot of compiling errors as I have experienced before.

Do you have a fix service package based on 4.4.0.51 for this Copy/Paste issue?

Thanks,

Lan

Hi Lan,

I have verified this issue completely. I was able to resolve this issue as follows:

1. Run the same application
2. Click on File - > Open the saved Untitled.edd file
3. Now, select each of the nodes explicitly using "Ctrl + Click"
4. Click on Edit - > Copy or Ctrl + C
5. Click on Edit -> Paste or Ctrl + V
6. The Nodes are pasted without any disconnection

Let me know if you shall need any further clarifications in this regard.

PS. For information on how to migrate to new versions, please follow this link:

Thanks and Regards,
Ajeet
