Hi Sue,
Dragging links from a symbol palette is not supported at the time being. But this is a high priority feature for us, and we will be providing this functionality in the next version of the product.
Thanks,

Hi
I have a similar requirement and would be useful if you could tell by when thius feature would be available and also can i attach properties to the Link to be shown in propertyeditor.
Even if i put link in the toolbar can i have some kind of validations on it as to which symbol they can be connected to etcetra
Thanks

Hi,
We are currently working on a dynamic link feature which will let you create links from simple shapes with end points such as lines, arcs, and curves. This functionality will let you use shapes added to the diagram using the drawing tools or even shape nodes sourced from symbols in the symbol palette, for dynamically creating a link by moving the shape over valid symbols. We will try to complete this feature and make it available as part of a minor update of Essential Diagram in a 3 to 4 week timeframe.
As for using more complex shapes capable of being designed with the SymbolDesigner and listed in the symbol palette, we have this feature scheduled for the 2 to 3 month timeframe, and hope to make it a part of the 3.5 version of Essential Diagram.

Sachin,
The current version of Essential Diagram will let you add custom properties to Links. All that you have to do is subclass the Link, and add the custom properties to this Link subclass. These properties will be listed in the PropertyEditor window when the link is selcted. A Link is basically a special type of Symbol, and hence can be subclassed in the same way as you subclass a Symbol type. The following Essential Diagram KB article details the steps involved in creating a custom link type - http://www.syncfusion.com/support/kb/diagram/Default.aspx?ToDo=view&questId=42.
Handling the Diagram.ConnectionsChanging/ConnectionsChangeComplete events will let you intercept the link creation process, and retain/remove the link based on an examination of the invovled symbols. This following KB link should help you with this implementation - http://www.syncfusion.com/support/kb/diagram/Default.aspx?ToDo=view&questId=34.

Sachin,
Support for dynamic linking with endpoint shapes has been added, and will be a part of the minor update of Diagram that we are currently working on. The feature is demonstrated in updated versions of the DiagramBuilder and CoolLinks samples. We hope to have this image ready within the week, and will provide it to customers who have expressed interested in the private build.
Thanks,
