Fast switching between years

Hi @all!

We want to use the SfCalendar control so that the user can select a specific date easily and fast. Most of the time the user has to select dates which are a couple of years prior or after the current date. So we need to provide a way to switch fast to, for example, the year 2030.

When clicking on the header in the SfCalender it get´s into year mode. There the user sees all months and can select very fast the appropriate month.

But theres no way the user can select the year in that way.

Is it possible to implement such a feature?

Based on the provided information, your requirement of “Navigating to the specific year / month in Calendar” in Xamarin.Forms can be achieved using MoveToDate property of Calendar. As per your requirement, you can move to particular year from month by tapping the month view header and after moving to particular year view you can move to the required year by using MoveToDate property. We have prepared sample for the same, please find the sample by the following link.

In the sample, we have navigated to desired year (2030) in button click, it will move concern year in the current view whether it is Month or Year.

that´s not exactly what i meant. Sorry for my inaccurate explanation. I want that the user can quickly navigate between years.

Let´s say the currently selected date in the calendar is the 13.05.2019. Now the user wants to select the 27.04.2028.

So he clicks on the month in the header, then the calendar shows the months for selecting (see the attached screenshot), and now the user has to

"swipe" 9 times to get to the year 2028.

There it would be perfect if he could again click on the header (which shows the current selected year) and then the user would see instead of the month names the years.

You understand what i mean?

Maybe the attached Screenshot will explain it better.

We have validated and considered to provide support for “Support to Calendar decade View in SfCalendar” Xamarin.Forms and logged feature request for the same. We will implement this feature in any of our upcoming release.

I also am needing the functionality to fast switch years in the Xamarin.Forms  SfCalendar control.

Can you confirm that this functionality will be in the Vol 2 2019 (June 2019) release? I am developing

with latest builds ( mostly weekly builds ) so was wondering if this would be added quicker than June 2019?
