Show icons / image in DropDownList field problem

Hi!

I'm using icons to show flags of countries in a DropDownList.

While this works, I can't get the DropDownList to show the flag in the initial value:

how can I display the image in the first field?

To display an image in the dropdownlist when an item is selected, we need to use the select event in the DropDownList and hide the existing input element to display the customized element.
