Edit Styles

Hi there,

Loving these Controls - soo much better than the stock Microsoft controls!

Anyway, my question:

As per the following Documentation: http://help.syncfusion.com/wpf/sfdatagrid/styles-and-templates#editing-datagrid-elements-style-in-visual-studio-designer

I should be able to right click a sfDataGrid, select 'Edit Additional Templates' and there should be multiple options (at least 16 according to the documentation).

However, when I right click the DataGrid and select 'Edit Additional Templates' I only get 3 options:

'Edit Filter FilterPopupTemplate'

'Edit Focus VisualStyle'

'Edit HeaderTemplate'

And in all above cases I can only select 'Create Empty...' , not 'Edit a copy...' like what is shown in the Documentation.

What am I doing wrong?!

I have attached a simple WPF Project and a screen shot of what I see.

Hi Daniel, 

 

We have checked the reported issue in our side but we are unable to reproduce the issue and it working fine in our end. However, you can get the style templates in another way by write the style in xaml and get the template from the designer. We have recorded the video for this and please find it from below link,

Hi Jai Ganesh,

Thanks for your reply and the video.

That works fine if I want to edit the Template.

But if I want to edit the DataGrid Cell Focus Visual Style the only option I get is to Create Empty (see attachment)

It also doesn't solve the issue that I cannot do what I should be able to do.

What could be causing this problem and how do I solve it?

We have checked your reported problem in our sample and we are able to reproduce the problem but in Microsoft controls also having the same behavior.  We also checked this with Button control and it also having the same behavior.

I thought I had already replied to this latest answer, but it doesn't seem to have gone in.

Ok - so are you saying there is a problem, or there is not a problem.

We have checked this issue in VS 2012 and VS 2013 and in both the default templates are loaded properly in designer. But while we checking this in VS 2015 the issue occurs in some machine and it only shows “Edit Filter FilterPopupTemplate”, “Edit Focus Visual Style”,” Edit HeaderTemplate” as you mentioned earlier. We are checking this issue by comparing the setting on the machines while using VS 2015 and let you know the details ASAP.

As we said in our previous update the style templates are loaded properly in designer for VS 2012, 2013 and VS 2015 Update 1. But it will not be working from VS 2015 Update 2 version. We have asked a query for this in MSDN Forum and please find the link from below,
