Strongly typed HTML helper control issue

I'm trying to use DropDownListFor strongly typed html helper but the following error occurs. I'm using the latest Syncfusion controls.

XmlException: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e)
