Clear the selected date value

In version 13.4.0.58 of the ejDatePicker how can I reset the selected value back to the default of null?

In version 13.2.0.29 I could do the following:

$("#endItemDate").ejDatePicker({ value: null });

but this doesn't seem to work anymore....
