Receiving error 503 (Service Unavailable) from server

Hi,
just installed the dashboard server into a Windows 2012 R2 server VM.
I ran /Utilities/DashboardServerIIS.exe and configured the server to run on port 50002. IIS site was created without issue. Cannot even browse to it on the local server using http://localhost:50002, let alone any remote computers using hostname or IP address.

As part of the installation I used port 50001 and when I click on the "Start Syncfusion Dashboard Server" shortcut from the desktop which runs IIS Express I assume, it works fine from the the server using http://localhost:50001

I have tried stopping the server using the "Stop Syncfusion Dashboard Server" shortcut and it makes no difference.

Port 50002 is opened through the firewall.

Any help would be great.

Hi Murat Onur,

We suspect that all the features in IIS are not enabled in your machine. Please check whether all the features in IIS are enabled or not and try browsing to the Syncfusion Dashboard Server site hosted in IIS.

Refer to the below links to enable IIS features in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012.

Hi,

I have installed dashboard server in Windows 10 with IIS. It installed successfully. But when i try to start the server i get the error

Service Unavailable

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

This is what i found in the event viewer

The Module DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\aspnetcore.dll failed to load.  The data is the error.

Application pool 'SFDashBoard' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.

How do i fix this?

Thank You

Hi Balasubramanian Ramanathan,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support.

This is an issue with the IIS upgrade path when you install ASP.Net core in your machine.

Please check the below link for more details and a workaround for the issue.

Try the workaround mentioned in the above link and let us know if you find any issues.

Thanks,
R. Venkatesan

503 Service Unavailable Error is an HTTP response status code indicating that your web server operates properly, but it can't temporarily handle the request at the moment. This error happen for a wide variety of reasons. Normally, this error can be due to a temporary overloading or maintenance being performed on the server and it is resolved after a period of time or once another thread has been released by web-server application.

How to fix HTTP 503 errors
  • Reload (Refresh) the page
  • Restart Your Devices
  • Scan for Malware
  • Clear Temporary Files
  • Visiting the website later
  • Contact server admin

Hi William Hold,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support.

As specified in the previous update, the issue is with the IIS upgrade path and this is resolved in “Windows Insider Build 15002”.

Try installing this build and let us know if you still face any issues.

Thanks,
Sankar
