RichTextEditor - is there a way to set maxLength?

Is there a way to limit the maximum number of characters entered into the RichTextEditor control?

For example, the standard HTML textarea and input tags both have a maxlength attribute available which will prevent the user from typing any more text into them.

Thanks,

Steve

On another note, it would be nice to show, in the footer perhaps, the number of characters remaining; or text that displays number of characters entered of the total number allowed.

Does anyone have an example of this?

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion forums.

Query1: Is there a way to limit the maximum number of characters entered into the RichTextEditor control?

We have already considered this requirement as a defect in incident #106813. Kindly have  follow-up with that incident for the fix.

Query2: On another note, it would be nice to show, in the footer perhaps, the number of characters remaining; or text that displays number of characters entered of the total number allowed.

Currently we do not have support for displaying the remaining characters in footer of RTE. This could be done as a work around once we implemented the MaxLength attribute and ClientSideOnChanged event for RTE control as promised in incident #106813.

Kindly have follow up with the same incident for further updates.

Regards,

Meena
