Overview
The Xamarin.iOS Digital Gauge control is a data visualization component that displays alphanumeric characters to appear digital. It can display a range of values, including both characters and numbers.
Character types
Digital gauge characters can be drawn in four types of segments: seven, fourteen, sixteen, and 8x8 dot matrix.
Seven segments
The seven-segment type is capable of displaying numbers and a few uppercase letters efficiently.
Fourteen segments
The fourteen-segment type is capable of displaying numbers and letters efficiently.
Sixteen segments
The sixteen-segment type is capable of displaying numbers and letters clearly.
8x8 dot matrix
The dot matrix segment type is capable of displaying numbers, letters, and any special character efficiently and clearly.
Display type
A digital gauge can display numbers as well as alphabetic characters in its output. Special characters can also be displayed.
Numbers
Numbers can be displayed in a digital gauge using any of the character format types.
Letters
Letters can be displayed in a digital gauge using any of the character format types.
Special characters
Special characters can also be displayed in a digital gauge using the 8x8 dot matrix character format type.
Customization
The characters of a digital gauge can be customized in terms of character width, character height, spacing between characters, and color.
Character customization
Character size, color, and thickness can be customized to enhance readability.
Character spacing
The space between characters can be customized to enhance readability.
