Syncfusion Essential Studio 2022 Volume 4 Is Here!

Syncfusion is excited to roll out the fourth and final major release of 2022: Essential Studio 2022 Volume 4. This release is packed with highly demanded, exciting controls and features for many different platforms. All the bug fixes completed before the code freeze for the release are also included.

Here’s a brief description of the major highlights for each platform.

.NET MAUI

• The following eight new controls are now included in our .NET MAUI suite in preview:
  • Backdrop Page
  • Calendar View
  • Data Form
  • Funnel Chart
  • PDF Viewer
  • Pyramid Chart
  • Rating
  • Text Input Layout
• The Backdrop Page is composed of two surfaces, a back layer, and a front layer. The back layer holds actionable content (like navigation or filtration) that is relevant to the front layer.
• The Calendar control displays multiple views from which we can select one or more dates within specified ranges.
• The Data Form control allows you to create and edit forms easily for data, such as login, reservation, contact, and employee forms.
• The Funnel Chart can be used to represent stages in a sales process and to show the amount of potential revenue for each stage.
• The PDF Viewer control lets you view PDF documents seamlessly and efficiently in a .NET MAUI application.
• The Pyramid Chart presents hierarchies visually in a pyramid-like structure that shows the proportions of a total.
• The Rating control lets a user provide a star rating or view other people’s ratings in a numeric scale for any service or product.
• The Text Input Layout control adds decorative elements such as floating labels, icons, and assistive labels on the top of input views for the Autocomplete, ComboBox, entry, and editor controls.
• The Cartesian Chart control now allows customizing legend items using the ItemTemplate property.

Flutter

• The Flutter DataGrid widget now supports:
  • Changing the shape of the built-in checkbox column.
  • Customizing the filter icon, its padding, and its color.
  • Customizing the filter options in the filter pop-up.
  • Customizing the color of the sort order number and its rounded background.
• The Excel Library now supports:
  • Creating and modifying the following new charts in a workbook:
    • Line with markers.
    • 100% line with markers.
    • Stacked line with markers.
    • 100% stacked line with markers.
    • 3D line.
    • 14 other chart types.
  • The following enhancements in worksheets:
    • Freeze and unfreeze a portion of a worksheet.
    • Define named ranges to a specific cell or a cell range.
    • Apply page setup like orientation, margins, and scaling.

Blazor

• The following new controls are added to the Blazor components suite:
  • Mention
  • Media Query
  • Rating
• All the Syncfusion Blazor components are now compatible with .NET 7.
• Syncfusion Blazor components will no longer support .NET 3.1, as it reached the end of its support cycle on Dec. 13, 2022. This is also applicable to the Blazor extension.
• The following components have been developed to meet industry standards and are now marked production-ready:
  • AppBar
  • Floating Action Button (FAB)
  • Message
  • Speed Dial
• The Blazor Diagram now displays the overall view of large diagrams and allows you to navigate, pan, or zoom a particular area of the Diagram.
• The Blazor PDF Viewer component now renders digital signatures in PDF documents in a non-interactive way.
• The Blazor Gantt Chart now allows you to retrieve data from remote web services as needed with virtual scrolling.
• The masked date-time input feature helps users enter valid dates and times in the right format and eliminates data input mistakes in the DatePicker, TimePicker, and DateTimePicker components.

Essential JS 2

• The new Essential JS 2 Rating component lets a user provide a star rating or view other people’s ratings in a numeric scale for any service or product.
• The following components have been developed to meet industry standards and are now marked as production-ready:
  • AppBar
  • Floating Action Button (FAB)
  • Mention
  • Message
  • Speed Dial
• All the Syncfusion Angular components are now compatible with Angular 15.
• The Word Processor component now supports displaying content in a multicolumn layout.
• The Gantt Chart now supports:
  • RTL rendering for languages such as Hebrew and Arabic.
  • A shimmer effect while loading
• The Pivot Table now supports:
  • Displaying subtotals at the bottom or top of a group.
  • Drawing series of multiple measures on a single y-axis.
  • Exporting the Pivot Table and chart to a PDF document.
• The TreeGrid now supports on-demand loading of child records when the parent rows are expanded.

WinUI

• A new MaskedTextBox control is added to the WinUI controls suite. It’s an advanced input control that restricts the input of certain characters and numbers.
• The Rating control is enhanced to let users customize the orientation.
• TreeGrid data can now be exported into an Excel spreadsheet.
• The Ribbon control now supports rendering high-density layouts using a compact mode.

WPF

• All the Syncfusion controls and framework controls can now apply Windows 11 light and dark themes.
• The PDF Viewer can now be used in an application that targets ARM64 architecture.

Document processing libraries

.NET PDF Library

• The Syncfusion PDF Library now supports redacting images in WinUI and .NET MAUI applications.
• An enhancement lets you lock individual signatures in a PDF document. Users cannot copy, edit, or extract these signatures from the PDF document if the signature is locked.
• Users can add animation to 3D annotations

.NET Word Library

• Convert an existing Word document or a new document created using the Word Library into a Markdown file. Users can customize the document’s image data at the same time.

.NET PowerPoint Library

• Use find text functionality in PowerPoint presentations. Users can perform the following actions using this feature:
  • Find, highlight, and replace text in all PowerPoint slides or a specific slide.
  • Find text by matching case, finding only whole words, and viewing all occurrences or just the first occurrence.

Flutter Excel Library

• From this release onwards, the following new features are included in the Flutter Excel creation library:
  • Create rich Excel reports using 19 new chart types.
  • Create named ranges and use them with Excel formulas.
