.NET PDF Library

Linearized PDF creation

This feature allows users to create linearized PDF documents optimized for fast web viewing.

SVG to PDF conversion

This feature allows users to convert SVG files into PDF documents. It renders SVG content, such as icons, logos, charts, and diagrams as high-quality, resolution-independent graphics in PDFs while preserving their visual appearance.

Enhancements in PDF text extraction

Upcoming improvements include:

  • Asynchronous text extraction: Async APIs enable nonblocking operations, enhancing scalability and responsiveness.
  • Cancellation token integration: Gracefully cancel long-running extraction tasks.
  • Performance optimization: Faster extraction of large and complex PDF files.
  • Memory efficiency: Reduced memory footprint during text extraction for better resource management.

JavaScript PDF Library

Encryption

This feature allows users to secure PDF documents using encryption. Protect sensitive content through password-based access control and permission settings that restrict actions such as printing, copying, and editing.

Long-term validation (LTV) and digital signature validation support

This feature allows users to validate digital signatures and LTV information in PDF documents. It helps verify document authenticity, integrity, and signer credentials while ensuring signatures remain valid over extended periods through embedded validation data.

Find text

This feature allows users to search for specific text within PDF documents. It enables locating words, phrases, or patterns across pages, making it easier to navigate and analyze PDF content efficiently.

Image marker for list drawing

This feature allows users to create lists with custom image markers. It enables the use of icons, symbols, logos, or other images as list bullets, providing greater flexibility for designing visually rich PDF documents.

Compression

This feature allows users to reduce PDF file size through content compression. It optimizes document storage and transmission by compressing text, images, and other resources while maintaining document quality.

Grid drawing

This feature allows users to create and render grid structures within PDF documents. It enables the generation of tabular layouts, structured content presentations, and custom grid-based designs with flexible styling options.

Actions

This feature allows users to add interactive actions to PDF documents. It supports actions such as JavaScript, URI, go to, remote go to, launch, named, sound, submit, and reset, and enables actions to be associated with form fields, bookmarks, and existing PDF documents. Additionally, document-level JavaScript actions can be added, retrieved, and removed to automate document behavior and enhance user interaction.

.NET Word Library

Digital signatures

Users can create, validate, and preserve digital signatures in DOCX documents, ensuring document authenticity and integrity using industry-standard certificates. Digital signatures and their status are accurately preserved during DOCX-to-PDF and DOCX-to-image conversions, making this feature essential for secure enterprise, legal, and compliance‑driven workflows.

Word to Markdown conversion enhancement

This feature enhances the Word-to-Markdown conversion by supporting graphical elements such as charts, shapes, grouped shapes, text boxes, SmartArt, canvas, ink, and MathML. These elements are detected and rendered as images in the resulting Markdown. This ensures visual fidelity, preserves document structure, and delivers a consistent viewing experience across Markdown-compatible platforms.

Word to PDF and Word to image conversion enhancements

Text borders

Text borders in conversions from Word-to-PDF and Word-to-image ensure that documents with bordered text retain their original structure and visual emphasis, preserving the intended design in the converted output.

Custom font streams

The .NET Word Library will introduce a new API in the FontManager class that allows applications to register custom font sources during startup. Registered fonts will be used automatically during Word-to-PDF and Word-to-image conversions, ensuring accurate font rendering and preserving the document’s intended appearance even when the required fonts are not installed on the server or machine.

.NET Excel Library

Excel to Markdown conversion enhancement

This feature enhances the Excel-to-Markdown conversion by supporting graphical elements, such as charts, shapes, group shapes, and text boxes. These elements are detected and rendered as images in the generated Markdown. This ensures visual fidelity, preserves document structure, and delivers a consistent viewing experience across Markdown-compatible platforms.

Excel to PDF and image conversion

The .NET Excel Library will introduce a new API in the FontManager class that allows applications to register custom font sources at startup. Registered fonts are used automatically during Excel-to-PDF and Excel-to-image conversions, ensuring accurate font rendering and preserving the document’s intended appearance even when the required fonts are not installed on the server or machine.

.NET PowerPoint Library

PowerPoint to Markdown conversion enhancement

This feature enhances the PowerPoint-to-Markdown conversion by supporting graphical elements such as charts, SmartArt, and group shapes. These elements are detected and rendered as images in the generated Markdown. This ensures visual fidelity, preserves document structure, and delivers a consistent viewing experience across Markdown-compatible platforms.

Registered fonts are automatically used during PowerPoint-to-PDF and PowerPoint-to-image conversions, ensuring accurate font rendering and preserving the document’s intended appearance even when the required fonts are not installed on the server or machine.

.NET Data Extraction Library

PDF to Word and HTML conversion

This feature enables users to convert PDF documents into editable Word and HTML formats while preserving document structure, tables, and images. This capability improves content accessibility, simplify document reuse, and support seamless integration with downstream systems and business workflows.

Barcode and chart recognition

This feature automatically detects and extracts information from barcodes, QR codes, and charts embedded within documents.

PDF to JSON conversion enhancement

This feature enhances the form recognizer’s capabilities by delivering up to 99% extraction accuracy across complex and varied document layouts, resulting in more reliable and efficient document processing.
