Neelakandan Kannan

The biggest challenge I faced when I joined Syncfusion was bridging the gap between what I had learned in college and applying it in a real-world environment. Everything felt new to me. From understanding the product and exploring the source code to solving issues independently, every step became a learning experience.

Moving into customer support brought a new set of challenges. Coming from a Tamil-medium background, communicating with international customers in English wasn't easy at first. I spent long hours learning and gradually became more confident with every interaction. Those experiences taught me to adapt quickly, stay dedicated, and face every challenge with a positive mindset. Every responsibility helped me grow, and the lessons I learned during those early years continue to shape the way I work today.

If I had the chance to relive one phase of my life, it would be my school days, especially when I was in eighth and ninth grade. Those were some of the happiest years of my life because they were filled with simple moments that brought immense joy.

I grew up surrounded by family, friends, and neighbours, and every day felt like a new adventure. During the holidays, we would spend hours playing cricket, football, flying kites, and enjoying every season in its own way. Summer vacations meant visiting relatives, spending time with my grandmother, and making memories that I still cherish today.

It wasn't about the games themselves – it was the togetherness, the carefree moments, and the happiness of growing up with the people around me. If I could go back to any phase of my life, I would relive those days without a second thought.

One principle I strongly believe in is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. I don't believe in working hard only when someone is observing or expecting recognition. For me, sincerity means doing my work honestly and giving my best, regardless of who is watching or whether anyone notices.

This belief has remained constant throughout my journey, and I hope to carry it with me in every stage of my life.

One of the memories that still brings a smile to my face is from my early days at Syncfusion. As a fresher, every morning felt like a race to reach the office on time. I still remember rushing to the office, climbing the stairs when the lift was crowded, and trying to make it just in time. Back then, it felt stressful, but today those moments make me smile.

I also look back fondly on the late nights we spent in the office during release days. We would often work until the early hours of the morning, then step out for dinner or tea, talk, and enjoy those moments together as a team. Those days were demanding, but the friendships we built and the memories we created still bring a smile to my face.
