SfDatePicker add days of the week (New feature)

It would be great if you can show days of the week while selecting date.

either by adding separate column (with selected All as first choice) to filer on specific week day or in same column with day

ex.

ddd, dd | MM | YYYY

Mon, 12 | 01 | 2026

Please check applicability and if it can be customizable.

Thanks

Hi Jacobs,

Thank you for contacting us. As per the current implementation, the MAUI SfDatePicker does not have support for the format `ddd, dd | MM | YYYY`. We have already logged a feature request for this.

We plan to implement this feature in any of our upcoming releases. During the planning stage for each release cycle, we review all open features and identify implementations based on parameters such as product vision, technological feasibility, and customer interest. Please upvote this feature to prioritize it.

We will notify you when this feature is implemented. However, you can communicate with us regarding any open features at any time using our Feature Report page.

JA Jacobs March 31, 2026 08:03 AM UTC

can you create two new formats for the other 2 main formats with ddd

MM_dd_yyyy

MM_ddd, ddd_yyyy

yyyy_MM_dd

yyyy_MM_ddd, dd

VM Vidyalakshmi Mani Syncfusion Team April 1, 2026 01:37 PM UTC

Hi Jacobs,

We will add the two requested formats (MM_ddd, ddd_yyyy , yyyy_MM_ddd, dd
) in the Syncfusion MAUI Toolkit SfDatePicker control. This will be included in the upcoming Syncfusion MAUI Toolkit release, which is planned for the end of this month. We will notify you once the release is available. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

JA Jacobs replied to Vidyalakshmi Mani April 29, 2026 06:37 AM UTC

Thanks, I noticed that days of week names switch lang according to mobile device language, but for my app it has switch lang button between en / ar / fr , and i don't want to change the app culture based on lang to avoid issues regarding numbers and calendars so i am hard coding it to en which works fine for me in all controls

so if you can add property for lang that if if specified the control will show any literals in this lang and if not specified it takes the device lang (same as current behaviour)

VM Vidyalakshmi Mani Syncfusion Team April 30, 2026 01:07 PM UTC

Hi Jacobs,

Currently, the .NET MAUI SfDatePicker supports localization only at the application level, and setting the language at the control level is not available.

We have logged a feature request to support this requirement. During each release planning cycle, we review all open requests and prioritize them based on factors such as product vision, technical feasibility, and customer demand. Based on this evaluation, the feature will be considered for implementation.

You can track the progress of this request using the feedback link below:

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Jacobs,

We are pleased to inform you that Syncfusion.Maui.Toolkit v1.0.10 has been released and is now available for download on nuget.org.

In this release, the following date format options have been added to the SfDatePicker:

  • MM_ddd, ddd_yyyy

  • yyyy_MM_ddd, dd

We appreciate your patience and continued support. Please feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance.

Vidyalakshmi M.

JA Jacobs replied to Vidyalakshmi Mani May 21, 2026 10:25 AM UTC

Thanks, but it seems there is an issue in this

  • MM_ddd, ddd_yyyy  should be  MM_ddd, dd_yyyy

as ddd was typed two times by mistake.

Image_1258_1779359163855

also i noticed that the ddd_dd_MM_YYYY format is the only one with YYYY upper case it should be yyyy lower case same as rest of other formats.

VM Vidyalakshmi Mani Syncfusion Team May 22, 2026 02:07 PM UTC

Hi Jacobs,

Thank you for your feedback and observations regarding the date format options.

We understand your requirement. Currently, date formatting in the SfDatePicker is supported through predefined enum-based formats. To provide greater flexibility for customization scenarios, a feature request has been logged to support custom string-based date formatting, allowing formats to be defined based on specific application requirements.

At present, there is no immediate plan to implement this feature. However, you can follow the status using the feedback link below:

Feedback link: Provide Custom String-Based Date Format Support in .NET MAUI SfDatePicker in .NET MAUI | Feedback Portal

Any future updates related to this feature will be communicated through the feedback portal.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Regards,

Vidyalakshmi M.

JA Jacobs May 22, 2026 02:42 PM UTC

Thanks ... actually format in a string would be much more flexible  but note that currently the enum value MM_ddd,ddd_yyyy is not usable at all as it gives a wrong date presentation as i mentioned in my previous reply.

VM Vidyalakshmi Mani Syncfusion Team May 25, 2026 11:32 AM UTC

Hi Jacobs,

We understand your concern regarding the current `MM_ddd,ddd_yyyy` format behavior. At present, SfDatePicker supports date formatting through predefined enum-based options. Since formatting needs can differ depending on application scenarios, a feature request has already been logged to provide support for custom string-based date formats, enabling users to define formats according to their requirements.

Your observations regarding the existing predefined format behavior and formatting consistency have been taken into consideration as part of this request.

We will keep you informed once this feature is available. Until then, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback and continued support.

Regards,

Vidyalakshmi M.
