Hello,

I find this site very helpful! Ok..here's my problem. When the user selects a row (in the data grid) that they want to edit, I want the other rows to be locked. Is this possible?

Hi iOS Man,

Usually our SfDataGrid doesn't allow multi cell editing. So, can you please confirm what do you mean by locking the cells or whether you want to disable the entire cells other than edited cell?

Glad to hear it’s resolved! For anyone facing the same issue, handling the row edit/selection event and making other rows read-only is a clean way to lock the grid while editing a single row.

Yes, this is possible. You can allow editing only on the selected row and temporarily disable editing or selection for all other rows until the changes are saved or canceled.

Hi Muzammil Sheikh, Dian Smith ,

SfDataGrid usually does not allow multi-cell editing. When a cell enters edit mode, other cells are automatically unavailable for editing. Once editing is completed and focus moves to another cell, the edited value is committed, and editing can then begin on the next cell. This is the expected behavior of the DataGrid.
We hope this clarifies the behavior. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
