Appreciation has always been my biggest source of motivation. Whenever I face a setback or make a mistake, I think about how rewarding it would feel to overcome that situation and earn appreciation for it. I keep that thought in my mind, and it becomes the motivation that pushes me forward. Instead of dwelling on the setback, I focus on the achievement that lies ahead. That mindset gives me the confidence to keep going and helps me come out of difficult situations stronger.

One of the biggest lessons my career has taught me is to stay humble and never stop learning. Early in my career, I often felt confident about what I knew, but with every new experience, I realized there was always more to learn. The more I learned, the more I understood how much I still had to grow. That mindset has stayed with me ever since. I still remember receiving a Syncfusion T-shirt in 2018 with the quote, "Never Stop Learning." Even today, that message continues to inspire me.

Another area where I have grown is people management. Unlike technical skills, it is something I learned through experience. Every individual has a unique personality and way of working, and bringing everyone together toward a common goal is both challenging and rewarding. It is a skill I continue to develop, and I believe it has played a significant role in shaping my journey.

One quality I learned from my former manager, Sivakumar, was the importance of deep analysis. Whenever we face an issue, he would not just fix it but take the time to understand its root cause by analyzing the framework and source code. That approach changed the way I looked at problem-solving.

Even today, I try to follow the same mindset. I believe that moving into a management role should never mean moving away from technical learning. Staying technically strong while leading a team is something I consider equally important, and it is a principle I continue to follow in my career.

I believe a good leader is someone who truly understands their team. Knowing each person's strengths, skills, working style, and capacity is essential for making the right decisions. It helps a leader set realistic expectations and avoid creating unnecessary pressure by committing to something the team cannot deliver. When you understand your team well, you can assign work more effectively, support them in the right way, and bring out their best. For me, good leadership is not just about assigning work or delivering results but about understanding the people behind those results. That, I believe, is the foundation of good leadership.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned early in my career came from my Development Lead, Jeyasri. After reviewing one of my implementations, she pointed out that I had made a simple feature unnecessarily complex. That feedback helped me realize that I had started working without fully understanding the requirement. She advised me to gain complete clarity first on what was expected before writing a single line of code.

Since then, I have made it a practice to discuss the requirement, analyze it carefully, and validate my understanding before getting started. This approach has helped me reduce rework, deliver solutions more efficiently, and improve the overall quality of my work. Even today, it is one piece of advice I continue to follow and share with others.

One incident that still makes me smile happened during the 2019 Hackathon. Our team had spent two days building a project, and my responsibility was to record and upload the final demo video before the deadline. Since we were running out of time, I quickly recorded the screen and submitted the video without checking it properly. Only after uploading it did we realize that the recording had captured all the background conversations. My teammates were understandably upset because the demo video played an important role in the evaluation. I felt guilty that my mistake could affect all the hard work the team had put in. Fortunately, we managed to get a few extra minutes to replace the video with the correct one. Looking back now, what felt like a stressful moment then has become a funny memory that we still laugh about.

I have always been grateful that my first team at Syncfusion was the Schedule team. It gave me the right environment to learn, experiment and grow during the early stages of my career. Looking back, I would especially credit Jeyasri and Nijamudeen for shaping my initial journey. They gave me the confidence to try new things and whenever I made mistakes, they patiently guided me and helped me learn from them. Through their guidance, I gained a clear understanding of the expectations, work culture and the way things were done at Syncfusion. Those early experiences laid a strong foundation for my career and I will always be thankful to my first team and the managers who played such an important role in my growth.

One part of my journey that I truly miss is the time I spent working from the office. I was in the office for about one and a half years before moving to work from home, and those days hold some of my best memories. What I miss most is the team environment. Working together, having spontaneous conversations, going out for team lunches, spending time in the break room, and sharing light-hearted moments made every day enjoyable. Those interactions brought us closer and created a strong sense of belonging. Although I have adapted well to remote work over the years, the time I spent in the office will always remain a golden phase of my career, and it is something I continue to cherish.

One value I always want to carry with me is humbleness. I believe it is one of the qualities that defines a person beyond their achievements. More than how I describe myself, I value how others remember me. If someone were to ask my colleagues about me, I wish them to describe me as someone who is humble, approachable and grounded. Leaving behind that kind of impression is something I truly value and I hope to carry that quality with me throughout my personal and professional journey.
