Entity Framework foreign key filter

Hello,

We are trying the asp.net mvc grid. We have it connected to and custom entity framework. All the data does show.

the first column and the grouped one are foreign keys. And the data shows. But the filter doesn't work as we want.

We want the excel like filter on a column from an other table. The strange thing is that the data shows, but the distinct filter settings won't get loaded.

What would be the solution?
