GridDataBoundGridFilterBarExt on a column as DateTime?

Question

I'm using GridDataBoundGridFilterBarExt and have some columns in my grid that are DateTime. When I try to filter on those I just get "Cannot perform '>' operation on System.DateTime and System.String"

How can I filter DateTime columns?
