Date Labels in Gantt Charts

I am drawing a Gantt chart with x-axis labels defined using:

chart.PrimaryXAxis.ValueType = ChartValueType.DateTime;

This outputs labels in a long DateTime format (date and time). I would like to use a short DateTime format (mm/dd/yyyy) or just a month/year (mm/yyyy) format. Is there a way to specify the format to use in outputing the axis labels?

Thank you for your assistance.
