Hello,

I have a question regarding the embedding functionality in DocIO

Is there a way in DocIO to determine the signature of a MS office file to properly set OleObjectType other than looking at file extensions?

The issue I am having is some .xls files have been saved in different formats. IE excel 4.0 worksheet, Workbook, 2003 worksheet etc..
This causes embedding errors when I set the OleObjectType blindly to 'Excel_97_2003_Worksheet' based on just the .xls extension. Ideally I would like to detect Excel .xls formats older than Excel_97_2003_Worksheet.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
MFJ

Hi MFJ,

Thank you for your interest in Syncfusion products.

Currently DocIO uses only the extension to select the OleObjectType.Could you please try to use the OleObjectType as Package when you embed the file with different formats.

Please let us know if you have any queries.

Regards,
Poornima.
