unbound grid - with xl look

I am evaluating your product suite for use in a new project. The basics are this.. We want to use a web-based application to present users with an 'excel' like workbook that is created from an actual xls template and looks like that template, the template includes multiple lines of header cells, and line lables etc. We don't wish to require the end user to own excel. I see that the winform grid can have the unbound grid, and make it look much like excel, can the asp.net grid also be handled that way?
also, if so, can the 'workbook' be saved back as an excel sheet? (using the XlsIO or export to excel functionality) Is it possible to use the XlsIO to open the spreadsheet and build a grid using the same styling gathered directly from the spreadsheet?

thanks...

Hi Melinda,

Thank you for evaluating Syncfusion Products.

The Essential Grid provides support for Excel Like Edit for all editable fields. This feature offers cell in-line editing, cell selection, row selection and with different editing modes. Please refer our online sample illustrating this feature.

For Excel exporting, the export feature allows you to export grid records into Microsoft Word and Excel formats. This should be done through a server-side method called export.

Please let us know if you have any concerns.

Thanks,
Rekha
