How to select a tab in a Ribbon?

I have a ribbon control with three tabs in it. How do I programmatically cause one of the tabs to come to the front and be visible? I tried the .Select() method, but it doesn't seem to have an effect.

To select a ToolStripTabItem in a RibbonControlAdv we need to use the Checked property to true. Please refer the below code snippet that illustrates this:

this.toolStripTabItem3.Checked = true;
