Is the custom filter dialogue available on version 6.2. I get the (empty) option but can't get (custom) to show.
Has (custom) it been restored in 6.3? The release notes indicate this may be true.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for using Syncfusion products.
We have recently fixed some of the issues in Custom filer dialog.
Please refer the DownLoad link for our latest Development build version 6.3.0.11 from the below, which has the fix for the issue:
http://www.syncfusion.com/downloads/product/build.aspx
Unlock key:
If your Essential Studio license is current, you will be able to obtain the key to install this version from your account in DirectTrac. Otherwise, please contact your Syncfusion Sales Representative or e-mail [email protected] .
In our future release, we are going to implement a TextBox like FilterBar. Please refer the sample from the below link which shows this:
http://websamples.syncfusion.com/samples/Grid.Web/6.2.0.55/FilterTextBox/binding.aspx
In the above sample, you have to just type the search text and wait for few seconds, a postback will happen automatically, and the GridControl gets filtered with the search text . This would be most preferable. We will get back to you, once this feature has been fully implemented.
Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Fantastic! Do you have an ETA on this change? 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc.
I did install the 6.3 changes and we upgraded and that works OK.
The proposed text boxes are a great option for searches as an option in a addition to filtering with prepopulated drop downs. Some users prefer one style ,some others and sometimes it's context.
