Ability to rename tabs by "in tab" editing (ie, Excel style)

Our customer asked us to provide this functionality to them. basically we have a docking manager hosting 3 controls, docked as tab controls; so far we don't have a way to capture the double-click event on the tab control caption area and make this Excel style editing of the tab caption.

has this been done before?
