Hi Simon,
This is just a runtime license check, please follow the steps given in the below KB article to avoid this error,
http://www.syncfusion.com/support/kb/studio/Default.aspx?ToDo=view&questId=33Note:
The KB article is be based on the users of version 4.2.0.37 and .Net Framework 1.1
Changes in the KB for the .Net Framework 2.0 users:
Step 2: Use the genlic.zip given here and also change the version in control.txt with the version of essential studio you have,
ex:
version = 5.102.0.51 for Essential Studio v 5.1.0.51
version = 5.102.1.0 for Essential Studio v 5.1.1.0
version = 4.202.0.37 for Essential Studio v 4.2.0.37
Step 3: After you open the .Net 2005 command prompt navigate to " C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin" and then type lc.exe
