Retrieving selected rows in a GridGroupingControl

I have not been able to retrieve the selected rows in a grid grouping control.
The property MainGrid.Table.SelectedRecords is always zero (MainGrid is the name of the GridGroupingControl). I enclose the ASPX file for inspection, in case I have made an erroneous setting for the grid.
I have been unable to run the sample "Essential Grid Selection Modes Demo". Is there a complete source code zip file somewhere?
What am I doing wrong?
