Checkbox coming readonly


I am using a checkbox column. But i am not able to modify the Checkbox..i.e couldnt do check/uncheck. IT is coming as readonly.
please tell me what would be the reason..

I have tried the code mentioned in the link. but some how i am geeting checkbox as readonly not able to change the checkbox .

I have to handle any event like checkbox click or query value etc...?
