CheckBox and transparent background

If I add a CheckBox to my TabPageExt-control, set the BackColor to Color.Transparent and the FlatStyle to True - the background isn't transparent but white?

What I'm I doing wrong?

This is the limitation in many of the .net controls, they can be transparent only in certain modes.

How about you guys create some of these controls, like you've done so with the excelent TabControlExt...
