Read custom PDF metadata using syncfusion_flutter_pdf

Hi all,

We would like to utilize the custom document metadata feature of PDF as a way to customize app capabilities per PDF file.

Using Adobe Acrobat we can add (I think XMP?) metadata to a PDF. How can we read this metadata from syncfusion_flutter_pdf?

Hi Sander,

Currently, we do not support retrieve and modify the custom metadata from the PDF document in flutter PDF library. However, we have added it to our feature request list. While we don’t have immediate plans to implement it, we typically review all open feature requests during the planning phase of each release cycle, which occurs approximately every three months. We will consider this feature for future implementation and provide updates once it becomes available.

At present, we do not have support for “retrieve and modify the custom metadata from the PDF document in flutter PDF library” and we have already logged a feature request for this. We do not have any immediate plans to implement this feature. During the planning stage of each release cycle, we review all open feature requests and determine which features to implement based on various factors, including product vision, technological feasibility, and customer interest. We will notify you when this feature is implemented.
