SfTextBoxExt suggestion box scroll event bleeds through to main ScrollViewer

I have a SfTextBoxExt control with multiselect enabled nested within a ScrollViewer. When the suggestion box is open, scrolling through the suggestion box calls the PreviewMouseWheel event of the main ScrollViewer. Why is this happening?

Hi Josepth Badrouk,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We have validated the reported queries from our end and were able to reproduce the issue. When scrolling the drop-down of the SfTextBoxExt, the PreviewMouseWheel event of the MainWindow is triggered. We are currently investigating this behavior and will provide an update by February 03, 2025. We appreciate your patience until then.

Hi Josepth Badrouk,

Thank you for your patience.

We have reviewed your queries and would like to inform you that when the SfTextBoxExt control is placed inside a ScrollViewer layout, the PreviewMouseWheel event of the ScrollViewer is triggered first, followed by the events in SfTextBoxExt. This is the default behavior from the framework side.

Additionally, if a ScrollViewer is placed inside another ScrollViewer, the PreviewMouseWheel event of the parent ScrollViewer will be triggered first, following the framework’s event hierarchy.

To assist you better, could you please clarify the specific behavior you are trying to achieve using PreviewMouseWheel? Understanding your exact requirement will help us provide a more precise solution.

We appreciate your time and look forward to your response.

Regards,

Sivaranjith N
