ColorPicker Alpha Looses Value

When using the color picker and setting an alpha value, when I go back into the picker, the alpha value has changed (usually one value less).

For example, if I set the alpha to 30, then go back in it shows as 29.  Setting it to 75 is ok, but then 74 would become 73.

Currently using version 17.03; I reviewed the release notes for the later versions and didn't see a specific fix. Can you let me know if this is still an issue, or if upgrading to the latest libraries will help.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick turn around. I just noticed the same issue also exists with the color picker palette control which I also use. Are these controls related? Will the fix apply to all the color controls?

UN Unknown Syncfusion Team September 1, 2020 12:52 PM UTC

Hi Sheri

Thanks for your patience.

The reported issue has been fixed and included in the patch which can be download from the below links. The ColorPicker is used in ColorPickerPalatte control, so the fix provided will resolve the reported issues in both controls.

Recommended approach - exe will perform automatic configuration.

Please find the patch setup from below location:

Patch link :
Please find the patch assemblies alone from below location:

Assemblies Link:

Nuget link:

Assembly Version: 17.3.0.14

Installation Directions:
This patch should replace the files "Syncfusion.Shared.Wpf” under the following folder.
$system drive:\ Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\$Version # \precompiledassemblies\$Version#\[TargetFramework]
Eg : $system drive:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\17.3.0.14\precompiledassemblies\17.3.0.14\4.6

To automatically run the Assembly Manager, please check the Run assembly manager checkbox option while installing the patch. If this option is unchecked, the patch will replace the assemblies in precompiled assemblies’ folder only. Then, you must manually copy and paste them to the preferred location or you must run the Syncfusion Assembly Manager application (available from the Syncfusion Dashboard, installed as a shortcut in the Application menu) to re-install assemblies.

I applied the patch using the patch link and it has resolved the color picker alpha issue. However, this patch has now broken my licensing and showing the prompt stating the following:

This application was built using a trial version of Syncfusion Essential Studio. Please include a valid license to permanently remove this license validation message. You can also obtain a free 30 day evaluation license to temporarily remove this message during the evaluation period. Please refer to this help topic(https://help.syncfusion.com/es/licensing/) for more information.

I am running an Essential Studio licensed under our main company account ([email protected]), not this account. How do I get rid of this and  apply the licensing again? It's pretty much halted my development going forward.

I ran the updated patch link and I am still getting the trial license warning whenever I run ANY application I ever built with Syncfusion, even installed application from product testing that were build previous to applying the patch.

UN Unknown September 4, 2020 12:34 PM UTC

I followed the steps and I still get the trial prompt.

The patch you sent was associated with  my personal Syncfusion account and I downloaded using that login information.

We are building against a Essential Studio Enterprise Edition - Community associated with a company account. I followed the steps to get the license key from the company account and updated my key in the call to RegisterLicense.

Rebuilding and running one of my applciations in Visual Studio gives me the same error.

The new key is MUCH shorter than the old key was - is that a problem?

KJ Kalap Johnson Peter Paulraj Syncfusion Team September 7, 2020 12:32 PM UTC

Hi Sheri,

Please find below the response.

You should generate and register corresponding version and platform’s license key in your application to prevent the trial message shown, if you are using NuGet packages from nuget.org or trial installer.

Also, our license keys are version and platform specific, so ensure that all the referenced Syncfusion assemblies\NuGet packages are on same version.

Refer the following documentation link to know more about licensing.

https://help.syncfusion.com/common/essential-studio/licensing/license-key

Find below the knowledge base article to know about which version license key should use in application,

If still the issue persist, please share us the following details to check the reported issue.

  1. License key registered in your application
  2. List of Syncfusion assemblies/NuGet packages used
  3. Screenshot of the application with error.

Kalap Johnson Peter P.

UN Unknown September 8, 2020 12:57 PM UTC

I have followed those instructions three times now - to the same results.

I'm not using Nuget packages, I have the Enterprise Edition installed on my development machine. I have installed (and was using the license key for) this version; that license key was much longer than the current key that is generated.

Essential Studio Enterprise Edition - Community license

Essential Studio Enterprise Edition Binary with TestStudio

I generated a new key for this version from our company account:

  Official Release : Version 17.3.0.14 (Vol 3 2019 - Oct 3, 2019)

I've uploaded the previous license key that I was using in the attached zip file in a text file, and a screenshot of the assemblies I am using with the version number.

After installing the patch and and rebuilding any of my applications I get the error message in the screen shot provided in the attached zip.

UN Unknown September 8, 2020 03:10 PM UTC

I thought I had attached multiple uploads to the previous message; looks like only the last one gets used.

Here is the full zip containing my previous license key, the error message dialog I see and the versions of the SyncFusion DLLS that I am using.

At this point I have backed out the patch and reinstalled  17.3.0.14 with the existing error in order to continue development. I've had to spend too much time on this licensing issue as it is.

Hi Sheri,

Thanks for sharing the details.

We have checked the details that you have shared and found that shared license key version is v16.4. You should generate and register corresponding version and platform’s license key in your application to prevent the trial message shown.

For your convenience, we have generated and shared the license key in v17.3.0.14. Please use this key.

License key: MzE1MzU5QDMxMzcyZTMzMmUzMG8xVEY1bjRTdHYvaDZpQU5Ja1VDV0ZsL3ByOXFPVXBodDE0SVBreUVRaWM9

Please get back to us, if the problem still not resolved.

Kalap Johnson Peter P.

UN Unknown September 10, 2020 01:04 PM UTC

I haven't had a chance to try the generated license key as I had to back out the update and re-install to continue development. Other tasks have taken priority at this time.

Given the time frame and current priorities, we may end up waiting until the September release to update all libraries to that latest version at that point.

I did generate a v17.3.0.14 license key through the store many times.

This is the key that I get through our online account:
MzE1NDEyQDMxMzcyZTMzMmUzMFF6clhLNTl5c3VaMmhmVG00VE1jWmRzWW96TUxzNkJGZktZZGx1MTNyY2M9

This was your generated key:
License key: MzE1MzU5QDMxMzcyZTMzMmUzMG8xVEY1bjRTdHYvaDZpQU5Ja1VDV0ZsL3ByOXFPVXBodDE0SVBreUVRaWM9
