Hi Mohamad,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support.

Yes.  As Syncfusion introduced the licensing system from v16.2.0.41 for Syncfusion NuGet packages and evaluation setup, you have to generate the license key (not unlock key) and register it when the launch of your application as specified in the below help documents when you referring the assemblies from trial setup or from the Syncfusion NuGet packages.

Refer to the below KB article to generate the Syncfusion license key for the required platform and version.

Refer to the below KB article link to know the difference between Unlock key and License key.

Also, please refer to this blog post for understanding the licensing changes introduced in Essential Studio.

Hi Mohamad,

Greetings from Syncfusion.

We would like to let you know that Essential Studio Enterprise Edition - Community license is not a trial version. If you are referring the Syncfusion assemblies from Essential Studio setup installed location (installed with community license), then it is not required to register the license key in your application. Also, it will not cause any issue if Syncfusion.Licensing assembly referred or License key registered in your application.

Starting with v16.2.0.x, if you reference Syncfusion assemblies from trial setup or from the NuGet feed, then it is must to register a license key in your projects as defined in below help documents.

Please let us know if this helps you.

Regards,
Vadivel Natarajan
