XAML Previewer for Xamarin.Forms
Visual Studio 2017 provides a nice preview to see the XAML based changes live.
When i try it with syncfusion controls, i get an exception in the preview view.
Is it possible to use the previewer view with syncfusion controls?

Hi Christian,
Thank you for contacting Syncfusion Support.
When initialising our SfNavigationDrawer control in Xamarin.Forms.Android platform Previewer, we caught with a Visual studio/ Xamarin.Forms error, so that we have queried the same with the GitHub team. Please find the same from the link given below.
https://github.com/xamarin/Xamarin.Forms/issues/1918
The same works in the Previewer as expected with the Xamain.Forms.iOS platform. If you find any issue with any of our Syncfusion controls, please update us with the Specific control name. This will be helpful for us to provide better solution on this.

Hi there,
Is there a definitive list of controls that are/are not compatible with the Xamarin Forms XAML Previewer? I'm trying to play around with it now, specifically with the progress bar, and can't get it to work.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
We have checked the progress bar component which is working properly at our end without any exception. The screenshot for the rendered progress bar can be find below.
To ensure this we have attached video which can be find from below link.
Our Visual Studio configuration can be find below.
Since, we are not aware on the exact scenario in which the progress bar is not working, kindly share your VS configurations, current version of your Essential Studio, screenshot for the error message, call stack and also share the code snippet which you have used. This will be helpful in assisting you further and provide you the solution at earlier.
Thanks,
Dharani.

Hi,
It seems your Github post was closed because you did not provide further info or a project when requested. So what happened with this, did you manage to fix it anyway?
I have exactly the same problem with SfComboBox (v17.1.0.51). As soon as I insert on into my page, I get the same "exception occurred while rendering the control" error, even without me attempting to set any properties.
Without a fix or workaround this means I either have to forgo the advantages of being able to use the previewer, or I drop Syncfusion components.
Thanks
Paul
PS. I am using Visual Studio 2017 (v15.9.9)

Hi Paul Parkins,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We have fixed the reported issue "XAML previewer not working properly for SfNavigationDrawer and SfComboBox in Android" from our side and this fix will be available in our upcoming Volume 2 release. It will be available on end of June 2019. We appreciate your patience until then.
