Starting in 2019, the Reporting control is no longer included in Essential Studio®. If you're experiencing issues with the Syncfusion Reporting Platform, Report Viewer, Report Designer, or Report Writer, we recommend migrating to Bold Reports, our dedicated reporting platform.

Bold Reports offers a comprehensive suite of tools and features for all your reporting needs, and we will help you make a smooth transition from the discontinued control. Our support team at https://support.boldreports.com/ is here to assist you with any questions or difficulties you may encounter during the migration process.

We thank you for choosing Syncfusion and appreciate your understanding.

Line breaks appearing as <br/> instead of moving text to new line.

Please see attach screenshot of <br/> symbols showing up in rendered report.  I have attached source rdl files for you also.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your interest in Syncfusion Components.

The shared rdl report does not have any html text in the textbox, so could you please share the proper rdl report with us to validate this problem. However, could you please also ensure whether you have selected the “HTML – Interpret HTML tags as styles” while designing the report.

Vinoth S.

You are correct, there is no HTML in the text block in question.  If you look at the text box in question, there are four hard-coded lines of text.  It seems that the report is trying to render the separate lines with <br/> symbols.  If we have a muli-line text box in our report, is there something we have to do for the line returns to take effect?

Hi Ryan,

The problem raised due to the new line used in the static text, which is replaced with <br> tag to render in html page. We have confirmed that the issue is a defect and logged a defect report on this, We will consider to include this bug in our Essential studio volume 1 SP 1 2018 release.

Hi there, can you please confirm that the fix for this issue has been included in the end-of-March SP release?  If so I will begin testing.  Thanks.

Hi Ryan,

Sorry for the delay.

The reported line break fix changes are not included in our SP 1 release. However we have included the feature changes to our upcoming 2018 Volume 2 release which is expected to be available in the month of May, 2018.
