Ok. I have downgraded jQuery from v3 to v2 and the EJ.Grid is now working again.
The grid doesn't work with jQuery v3?

Hi Catalin,
Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support
We have analyzed your query and we have prepared a sample in latest version(15.4.0.17). We have updated the jQuery to latest version using Nuget and we are not able to reproduce the reported issue.
We suspect that you are using older version of Essential studio. We are able to reproduce the reported issue when we refer the Older version say (14.2.0.26) Essential studio with latest version jQuery (3.2.1).
We have given support to jQuery V3 above from 14.2.0.28 and above versions of Essential studio. So kindly upgrade to latest version to use latest version of jQuery.
For your convenience we have prepared sample in latest version(15.4.0.17) with jQuery latest version which can be downloaded from below link
Sample: http://www.syncfusion.com/downloads/support/forum/134998/ze/SyncfusionMvcApplication40-151609256
If you are using latest version and issue still occurs, kindly get back to us with following details
- Share the Essential Studio Version details (XX.X.X.XX)
- Share the jQuery version (X.X.X)
- Full Grid rendering code.
- If possible share the issue reproducible sample or try to reproduce the issue in provided sample

Thanks for the info.

I cannot update it, as I have added Syncfusion to my MVC project through the NuGet Package and the latest version is 14.1

Found the solution!
I had to change the package source to Syncfusion. (it defaults to nuget.org)
Thanks, Consider this thread closed.
