Custom Graph Layout for a Mindmap editor

Question

HelloI'm prototyping a mindmap editor and need to develop my own "Directed Tree Layout manager". I searched for doc & samples but did not found explanations on the layout process and what kind of code could be put in overridden versios of DoGraphLayout and NormalizeNodes. At the first place I would like to center the root node, then if possible I would also like to implement "text on spline arcs" feature (like in Tony Buzan's mindmapping application)
