Parameters are not visible when running a report from SSRS in remote mode

I am developing a UWP application with the SFReportViewer control.  I have developed and published a report with two date parameters to an SSRS report server.  The report processes and renders fine in the UWP application, however the parameters are not displayed in the parameters pane of the report viewer control.  So, I am unable to see or change the report parameters in the report viewer control.

I am using the trail edition of the UWP control suite and I have version 15.3.0.26.  I have followed the documentation for the SFReportViewer, although there is very little information in there about report parameters.

Thanks for your assistance.  I can provide more technical details if necessary.
