shared dataset possible without report server

Hi,

is it possible to create and add a shared dataset in a report when there is no report server installed?
Would it be possible to create a shared dataset on our own?

is it possible to create and add a shared dataset in a report when there is no report server installed? 
As of now, the shared dataset functionality will work along with Server environment only.  
 
Also, can you share the details of the environment where you are using our component? 
  1. RDL Report will be in application and will be rendered in ReportViewer by providing the folder file path.
  2. RDL report will be in Report Server and will be rendered in ReportViewer by providing the report server report path or with report id.
 
If your environment is application environment then your requirement is to have the shared dataset with the application and that need to be used with RDL report by mapping the dataset folder path relatively to the report? 
Would it be possible to create a shared dataset on our own?
