Row header arrow disappears when user clicks top header how

Notice that the row header arrow is displayed when I select the row.

 After I click the top most header row cell (the empty cell to the right of the customername column):

Notice that the row header arrow disappears but the row remains selected. This misleads the users of my application who now believe the row is no longer selected.

Notice that clicking any other column header cell to sort the column brings the row header arrow back.

I need the row arrow header not to disappear when the user clicks that top row header cell. Is there a workaround that fixes this behavior?
