- What version of RDL files are supported by the ReportViewer?
Starting in 2019, the Reporting control is no longer included in Essential Studio®. If you're experiencing issues with the Syncfusion Reporting Platform, Report Viewer, Report Designer, or Report Writer, we recommend migrating to Bold Reports, our dedicated reporting platform.
Bold Reports offers a comprehensive suite of tools and features for all your reporting needs, and we will help you make a smooth transition from the discontinued control. Our support team at https://support.boldreports.com/ is here to assist you with any questions or difficulties you may encounter during the migration process.
We thank you for choosing Syncfusion and appreciate your understanding.

What version of RDL files are supported by the ReportViewer?
I have found this article from 2014 that suggests the version supported for the WPF ReportViewer is SQL Server 2008/2008R2. What is the current version supported for ASP.MVC ReportViewer?

ASP.MVC ReportViewer also supports 2008/2008R2 version RDL reports like WPF ReportViewer as mentioned in the KB article. https://www.syncfusion.com/kb/2376/what-are-the-rdl-versions-supported-in-reportviewer Please refer to the below UG documentation about sample creation, http://help.syncfusion.com/aspnetmvc/reportviewer/getting-started You can obtain the ReportViewer MVC samples from the below build installed location, %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Syncfusion\EssentialStudio\%version%\MVC\Samples\web |

Hi Debbie,
We have support for SQL Server 2012 and 2014. We have shared
the version of RDL specification which is used in RDL reports and supported in ReportViewer.

Hi,
I am trying to run your server reporting example using your reportviewer javascript control pointing to a SSRS 2016 instance
when building reports the schema is
http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2016/01/reportdefinition
This is what Visual Studio SSDT tools and end user report builder generate when creating reports.
the report executes and comes back blank in your reportviewer control.
Is this because Sql Server 2016 is unsupported?
thx

Hi Roger,
Our ReportViewer control supports 2016RDL schema from our last release version (14.2.0.26). So, please upgrade to our latest version (14.2.0.26) setup to load 2016 RDL schema reports. If the issue still persists with the latest version (14.2.0.26), then please share the reproducible 2016 RDL report definition to validate the mentioned issue at our end.
Regards,
Selvakumar S.
