Hybrid vs Cordova

Hi,

Impressive work on the V3 of orubase, I'm planning on using it but I can't see the pros/cons of using cordova or hybrid app project type.

What are the main differences ?

Regards,
Greg

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

Regarding “Difference between Multi-Device Hybrid App and Orubase-Cordova App”

Multi-Device Hybrid Apps are Visual Studio tools for Apache Cordova which is a single project integrated with Orubase Mobile JavaScript framework that allows web developers to build mobile applications for iOS, Android, and Windows platforms  within Visual Studio itself.

Orubase-Cordova App is an Apache Cordova application integrated with Orubase Mobile JavaScript framework that allows targeting iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms. Orubase-Cordova templates contain project files for all the supported Native platforms. The source code is found inside the “platforms” folder and it can be opened in the platform specific development IDE (Eclipse for Android, Xcode for iOS, and Visual Studio for Windows Phone).

Both Multi-Device Hybrid App and Orubase-Cordova App supports all the features including native API access using Cordova plugins, Orubase Mobile JavaScript framework which supports device specific UI for iOS, Android and Windows platforms except that Multi- Device hybrid app that run on iOS (Mac Configuration is needed), Android, Windows Phone using a single project.

Regarding “Orubase-Cordova App allows to generate native code and modify it later

Yes. Orubase-Cordova App contains project files for all the supported Native platforms under “platforms” folder which is placed under application’s root directory and it can be opened and modified in the platform specific development IDE (Eclipse for Android, Xcode for iOS, and Visual Studio for Windows Phone).
