NewButton dissappears on TabControlExt when ItemsSource collection count is 0

I have a collection binded to ItemsSource on TabControlExt.
IsNewButtonEnabled="True"
IsNewButtonClosedonNoChild="False"

When last item in collection is deleted, the newbutton will dissappear, and there is no way to add a new tab anymore.
Is there any way around this and still using the newbutton on TabControlExt?
