Only bind properties specified in grid builder

We are binding collections of custom objects the MVC grid. Unfortunately, every public property on each object is being queried, even when it is not specified in the bound columns.

This causes massive slow downs due to lazy loading some properties when we do NOT want them displayed for the grid. Is there a way to specify that a grid should not query all properties of an object when binding?

It would be a lot more work for us to make custom model objects that only have properties we want bound to a grid.
