Problem refreshing of subcontrols

Hi, I have a wierd refresh problem with the diagram control. 

When I dynamically add a new node to the diagram, the node does not display a sub 3rd party control properly (See bad.png). When I click into the node, the subcontrol (the grid) does display correctly (see good.png).

Is there some sort of refresh option that I can experiment with to get my subcontrols to display properly?
