Templated column for edition

What I try to do seem very simple but I do not how to do it.

I need to have an auto-complete textbox for product selection when editing.

I first try the cell-edit type but it seems that it is impossible to define an edition template for this column. I also try with unbound column but same problem.

Then, I try with inline/dialog/externalform edition but when I set the template control with the control including the auto complete textbox, the edition does not work anymore.

So is there any solution to be able to have an auto-complete textbox for edition ?

I mean any other solution than heavy javascript.
