Is it possible create heatmap as custom chart (WPF)

Hello,

How can I do such chart type using wpf essential chart?
Example: http://oi40.tinypic.com/119mfrl.jpg

I think this possible to do as custom chart type. Should be essential chart performance fine with a lot data in color map?
