Edit Control in WPF (Please Help)

I need to use the edit control to use its Intellisense capabilities.

I'm running in to 2 problems and cannot seem to find a solution in the documentation
1) When the Intellisense drop down box is open when we type on the edit control doens not select the relevent item from the list. (Type 'P' should highlight all entries in the list starting with 'p')

2) After selecting an entry from the intellisense list even if there is a space between the current word and previous word the whole thing will be replaced by theselected item in the control

Is there anyway to elliminate these issues
