Introduction
Erica Hawkins is a web developer and designer who develops projects in addition to her usual development and QA work at a supply company in Georgia, USA.
Problem Summary
Being a hand coder, Erica was having issues juggling the design of her side project with building all its elements. She then got tired of trying third-party diagrams that just didn’t suit her needs. “I wanted something that’s like my own, that I can build on my own,” she said.
That’s when she came across Syncfusion Essential Studio® for React. She found lots of demos for the Diagram component and then noticed that there was also a Figma Kit, at which point, she said, “I was totally sold.”
“I would definitely recommend it. I think everybody should be using this, honestly.”

BEFORE SYNCFUSION
Challenges
- Building the elements and design herself was “a lot to juggle.”
- Could not find diagrams customizable enough.
AFTER SYNCFUSION
Solutions
- Using Syncfusion components as prototypes “made my life way easier.”
- Can build the React Diagram to be the way she wants.
Results
Erica has been very pleased with Essential Studio for React. She especially likes how many demos are available for the components, the quality of the documentation, and the customization options. “It did relieve a lot of stress with the customization part,” she said. “The components are very solid. It’s so much work off my plate.”
She also appreciates how responsive the support team is, even with her free Community License. “Usually with code bases, it’s hard to reach out to people. So, it was really surprising getting the feedback I was able to get. I think they’re really nice and really receptive,” Erica said. “It’s awesome for me.”
Future Plan
Right now, Erica is using Syncfusion’s React components at home, but her ultimate goal is to propose them to her workplace for use in the e-commerce app her team is set to build. She’s in the process of putting together a pitch for it.
Conclusion
Erica now has a component suite she can rely on to build her projects exactly the way she wants. She saves huge amounts of time by not having to design components like mind maps herself, and she can customize them quickly and easily.
