Vijayaraj Angappan

Working in the Syncfusion consulting team exposed me to different projects, teams, and technologies throughout my journey. Every new project came with its own challenges, requiring me to adapt quickly and step outside my comfort zone. While this constant change felt unfamiliar at first, it gradually became one of the most valuable parts of my experience.  

The biggest lesson I gained was the ability to learn independently. Each project required me to understand new technologies, explore unfamiliar concepts, and find solutions on my own. Over time, this helped me build confidence in my ability to adapt and take on new challenges without hesitation. It also taught me that with the right mindset and willingness to learn, no technology or problem is too difficult to approach. 

I always wanted to become a software engineer, but what truly made me feel that I belonged was the kind of exposure I received here. In many places, people get the opportunity to work only on a specific part of a project or within a single domain. 

In my experience, especially during my time in the Syncfusion consulting team, I had the opportunity to work on complete project workflow across different technologies. Instead of being limited to one area, I was able to understand the entire project from start to finish and gain exposure to different aspects of development. 

That experience gave me confidence and a strong sense of satisfaction. More importantly, it showed me that I could continuously learn, adapt, and grow. Realizing that made me feel that I was in the right place.

Honesty is a value I have always believed in. I prefer being genuine in my interactions and expressing my thoughts openly, whether in my personal life or at work. I feel that being honest creates clarity and helps build stronger relationships over time. 

I also believe in giving my best to whatever responsibility I take up. Once I commit to something, my focus is on doing it properly rather than looking for shortcuts or compromises. While there is always room to improve and learn, I believe the fundamentals should always be done right. 

These principles have helped me stay true to myself and continue to guide the way I approach both life and work.

Earlier, I used to compare myself with others and often felt that they were more skilled or knowledgeable, which created a sense of self-doubt. 

As I gained more experience, I began to understand that everyone has their own strengths, and what matters is how well we do what is given to us. As I started focusing more on my own work and giving my best, I gradually became more confident. 

I also realized that comparing myself with others was only holding me back. Focusing on what I know and continuing to improve made me more comfortable in my own journey, and that shift in perspective keeps pushing me forward always.  

I have learned from many people throughout my journey. In my early days, I had a senior who was very strong technically and helped me understand how systems work in depth. His guidance helped me build a strong foundation. 

Later, my managers influenced me in a different way. I learned patience, communication, and how to handle situations calmly from them.  

Similarly, I have learned something valuable from every person I have worked with, and those lessons continue to influence the way I work and interact with others today.
