Hello,
I am trying to display an equation which has a superscript and a subscript using the code below:
\left( \frac{\sum {M}^{*}_{pb}}{\sum {M}^{*}_{pc}} \right)_x
When inserted into this code editor (https://editor.codecogs.com/) the correct output is displayed. However, in the attached zip, the output word file shows incorrect handling of the equation. Is there a solution for this?
Thanks.
Hi Natalie,
We have reproduced the reported issue of "LaTeX equation not being preserved properly when appended to a Word document" on our end. We will
validate the issue and provide you with more details by mid of this week.
Regards,
Sneha.
Natalie, we have confirmed
that the reported issue with “LaTeX contains NArray with subsuperscript not
preserved properly while calling AppendMath API” is a defect and we have
logged a defect report. We will include the fix for this defect in our weekly
NuGet release, which is estimated to be available on three weeks. We will let
you know once the fix is included in the weekly release.

Natalie,
as promised earlier, we have included the fix for the reported bug with “LaTeX contains NArray with subsuperscript not preserved
properly while calling AppendMath API” in our latest weekly NuGet release (v25.1.39).
Root cause of the issue:
If an equation contains NArray with equation after subsuperscript
accepts in Microsoft Word. In DocIO, NArray with equation after
subsuperscript not accepted.

Note: We
will include this fix in our 2024 Volume 1 SP release, which will be available
in the beginning of May 2024.
This fix seems to have partially fixed the issue, but now when the equation is displayed in PDF, the parentheses overlap some of the symbols. This does not occur in the word document. Please see Output attached.
Natalie, we have reproduced the reported issue with “Parentheses overlap with text when converting a Word document to PDF” on our end. We will validate the reported problem and provide you with more details within two business days.

Natalie, as
promised earlier, we have included the fix for the reported bug with “Delimiter
with Subscript-Superscript equation is not preserved properly in Word to PDF
conversion” in our latest weekly NuGet release (v25.1.42).
Root cause of the issue:
In the Word document input, there is a right subscript-superscript
within a delimiter in an equation. While layouting the subscript-superscript,
we took into account the superscript's width to determine the position of the
end delimiter. However, in this instance, we need to consider the subscript's
width to determine the position of the end delimiter. As a result, we are
encountering the reported preservation issue.
